Future Wave (Anti-Smoking)

Future Wave (Anti-Smoking)

Sadly, thousands of kids take up the habit of smoking cigarettes every day. Some smoke out of curiosity; others give in to peer pressure; some smoke to feel more "adult"; others think it seems "cool." Despite all the health warnings, all the fears of smoke-related illnesses, some kids choose to take their chances. Because smoking remains an epidemic problem, the message of this classic live-action musical drama continues to ring true: when it comes to smoking, you have a choice - if you haven't started, don't! If you have, quit! Here we see a highly entertaining and upbeat story-within-a-story, which presents a group of kids who want to make a movie of anti-smoking skits that will help kids discover alternatives to smoking. Two songs highlight the program: "Choices," which underscores that people can make positive choices about their health, and "Future Wave," which is the goal to reach for - a world where unhealthy smoking is a thing of the past.
