Caribbean 1: Six Caribbean Islands Tour

Viewers will love this fact-filled voyage to six of the Caribbean's most beautiful islands: St. Thomas, Guadeloupe, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Tortola. St. Thomas, in the U. S. Virgin Islands, is a 30-square-mile island known for its magnificent coastlines; its Magens Bay Beach has been named one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic Magazine; here we also explore the capital city of Charlotte Amalie. Guadeloupe we learn is two islands connected by a bridge over the Riviere Salee. To the east lies Grande-Terre, known for its resort areas and the capital of Pointe-a-Pitre, and to the west lies Basse-Terre, the larger of the two islands, known for its rain forest, waterfalls, and mountains. The English island of Barbados is well known for its superb beaches; also we visit its capital city, Bridgetown. St. Lucia we discover is a small tropical island and is known for beautiful bays such as Marigot Bay. At St. Maarten we tour the capital city of Philipsburg, located on the Dutch side of the island, which is a favorite duty-free shopping destination for cruise ships. Tortola, which means "Turtle Dove," was named that for its shape and beauty, this British island is characterized as "the Caribbean as it used to be." 01/08DE IJSCA 30 min.
