11. Rita Blitt 1: Dancing Hands (Biography)

Rita Blitt is an award-winning painter, sculptor and filmmaker, who has created art all of her life. Her sculptures, some up to sixty feet in height, have been permanently installed and exhibited along with her drawings and paintings, in museums, galleries and public places around the world. This classic biography profiles this celebrated artist who explains how her drawings and paintings, which sometimes become sculpture, are often created using her two hands at once. She says, "When those lines come from my hands, I feel like I am dancing." Her art in fact reflects her love of nature, music and dance. Today, she has studios in Emeryville, California, Aspen, Colorado, and Leawood, Kansas, and continues to conduct workshops where participants are encouraged to let their hands "dance on paper."
