If This Ain't Heaven

If This Ain't Heaven

Is being 50 old? For some, the "big 5-0" is a turning point; senior citizenry is right around the corner. For Jacob Gaymon, a 50-year-old, African-American press operator, who likes to call himself "Mr. G.," and who choose to live alone with his cat called Africa, fifty may be getting up in age, but he's not ready to call it quits, and he deals with being alone in his own way. As Mr. G sees it, he's content with his life; he works five days a week, 7 - 3:30 making shipping containers, and much like Africa, when he does have free time, he likes to spend it independently; though he readily admits, his companion at home at this stage of his life is his loving cat, which is perfectly OK with him. Overall, his life is fulfilled; he loves life, he loves his cat; so as Mr. G sees it, "if this ain't heaven, then nothing is." Produced by Roberta Cantow. 00/07DE CA 30 min.
