Family Album 1: Katie Malone

"Highly Recommended. I wanted you to know how enormously impressed I was by the production of ‘Katie Malone.’ I found the performance of Julie Portman enormously moving." -J. Carter Brown, Natl. Gallery of Art
"Highly Recommended. Ms. Portman casts a spell of magic." -New York Daily News
Obie Award-winning actress and playwright Julie Portman recreates the world of her parents in two plays through stories from their daily lives. Katie Malone, the first play, is the story of Julie's mother, a free-spirited woman of uncompromising individuality and conviction who continues to play her piano regardless of what happens through 54 years of married life. The play charts the winding journey of a woman who struggles to remain true to herself when confronted by life's challenges and obstacles - not the least of which is her domineering husband. Produced by Ki Theatre. 04/08DE JSCA 60 min.
