Alaska 2: Grand Glacial Discovery

Alaska 2: Grand Glacial Discovery

One of the most exciting trips a person can ever take is to Alaska's Hidden Passage. Whatever activity one chooses to pursue, it is guaranteed to be an exciting and educational experience. In this program we discover why Alaska is considered one of the most beautiful natural places in the world. Our first visit takes us to Ketchikan, which was established in the late 1800's by American pioneers, and today is known as the salmon capitol of the world. Next we visit Juneau, originally a frontier, gold mining town, and now Alaska's quaint and charming capital city. We continue by exploring magnificent ice fields and glaciers that date back thousands of years; then we stop at Sitka, the former Russian capital of North America. We visit the Alaska Raptor Rehabilitation Center, founded in 1980 its primary purpose is to rehabilitate injured wildlife; next we travel to Valdez, known as the Switzerland of North America and end our tour in Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. 03/09DE IJSCA 30 min.
