Becoming a Watercolor Artist

Becoming a Watercolor Artist

"Highly Recommended. This is an excellent program for beginning art students and other aspiring artists, which introduces the basic elements of art, including composition, value, and color, as well as offering easy-to-follow overhead and close-up instruction." -Booklist
Talk about perspective; that's one of the excellent features of this easy-to-follow, how-to program, featuring artist Lori Keel-Dillen, which uses overhead and close-up shots to help viewers learn the techniques to become a watercolor artist. We begin with "Learn the Basics," beginning with primary colors, which emphasizes the necessary building blocks required for artists working in any medium; it also includes "on-hand" demonstrations of techniques used in coloring, drawing, values, and composition. In the "Let's Create a Painting" segment of the program, we are introduced to the types of materials used specifically for watercolors; then we are expertly guided through a step-by-step approach to create paintings using both wet and dry brush techniques. Feel free to paint along as you watch the program and before you know it, you'll be on your way to becoming a watercolor artist. Produced by Peggy Lanning-Eiseler. 04/10DE IJSCA 60 min.
