05. Slave Day (More to Life Than Drugs)

This program explores common misconceptions and apprehensions of students as they prepare to enter high school. One common fear is that "everyone does drugs and how will they be able to say no and still be accepted?" Here we see it's the start of the new school year at Kerrisdale High School and the old gang is back and having fun putting the freshmen through embarrassing antics for Orientation Week. Fun and games are soon forgotten however when the school janitor discovers what looks like drugs in the radio booth. It's up to Jorge to find out who planted the drugs or face serious consequences with school authorities. With the help of his friends, Jorge uncovers the surprising culprits, but only after coming to the realization that it's time to make some important changes in his own life. In the end we learn that while drugs are a factor in many high schools, there are many kids who choose not to use drugs. 00/08DE IJS 30 min.
