10. Not So Fast (Balance, Understanding, Conservation)

Our differences can divide us or, in appreciating our differences, that understanding can bring us closer together, which is the happy ending that results in this multi-themed program. Here we meet Layla, who wants to plan a "fat-a-thon" to help raise money for new exercise equipment, and Ben, a new student who happens to have a First Nation's family heritage. Each of these Kerrisdale kids comes from different backgrounds; however, in a science class they find common ground when they come together over the class energy use and conservation assignment. The program also looks at the false perception often delivered by the media that all body fat is bad, when actually a certain amount is essential for a healthy, growing body. 00/08DE IJS 30 min.
