Finland is a Nordic country that borders Sweden to the west, Russia to the east, and Norway to the North. In this program we get to see what life in a Scandinavian country is really like. First we meet ten-year-old Tiia Syrjälä, who lives on a farm, where her mother's job is giving horse-riding lessons. Tiia loves to help on the farm; and she loves her dogs, cats, sheep and rabbits, but mostly, her horse. Next we travel to the Arctic Circle, where Santa Claus lives, and see him, his reindeer, and his workshop. Tiia now travels to the city of Tampere and visits Näsinneula, an observation tower; it is the tallest freestanding structure in Finland and offers great views of the city and Lake Näsijärvi. Then she and her friend Vilma Kaivonen spend the rest of the day at the Sarkanniemi Amusement Park and enjoy all the thrilling rides; they end the day with a refreshing sauna and swim. Next we visit the home of Kira and Kristian Kojola, who are seven-year-old twins, and their little brother Kasper. The twins love all kinds of sports, but Kira is best at figure skating and Kristian prefers soccer. The program ends as the children spend an exciting day at the biggest water amusement park in all of Europe, Serena. 00/08DE PIJ 30 min.
