The United States of America: Children of California

United States of America, The: Children of California

This program introduces us to two young children who live in southern California in the United States of America. First we meet 7-year-old Morgan Acaldo, who lives in Burbank with his mother. Living near a huge city like Los Angeles, Morgan's mother knows children are often exposed to guns and violence via the news, video games and television; so as a form of protection for her son, she takes him to a firing range to learn about gun safety; also Morgan learns Tae Kwon Do martial arts in Sun Valley; here Master Nick Palushaj explains the benefits of this type of self-defense training. Then we get to view moments from one of the great event that occurs in Pasadena on the first day of every New Year, the Tournament of Roses Parade. Next we meet 5-year-old Vanessa Fenwick, who helps her mom with her baby brother, plays T-ball, practices ballet, and attends kindergarten at the Chatsworth Hill Academy in Chatsworth. We also join her on a behind-the-scene's tour of Universal Studios and view the exciting WaterWorld attraction. 00/08DE PIJ 25 min.
