7. Myke Morton

07. Myke Morton

"Highly Recommended. This is an excellent study of the late Myke Morton, who brought the beauty of nature in New Hampshire to life. Here we learn the story of this self-reliant woman, who wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted, which was to be a self-reliant artist. Certainly an inspiration to anyone who longs to devote hers or his life to the world of art." -National Media Review
Her name, Myke, may surprise you, but her artwork is inspirational. An award-winning Copley Artist who worked in her studio and gallery in storybook, Jackson, New Hampshire, famous for its "Honeymoon Bridge," Myke Morton was a multi-talented artist whose paintings are so realistic you can almost feel the icy cold of her wintry snowscapes or smell the distinct fragrance of her beautiful floral scenes. In this classic profile of Myke we meet the artist at work in her studio, learn the story of her life that was dedicated to art, and browse through her gallery to view example after example of her treasured works of art. Here we learn the many stories behind her paintings, the variety of techniques she used, and the thoughts and emotions that went into each painting, which allowed her to bring out a unique "cold and hot depth of perception," as she describes it.
