Sacred Lands: Mysteries of the Anasazi

Sacred Lands: Mysteries of the Anasazi

Centuries ago, from approximately A.D. 1 to A.D. 1300, the American Southwest was home to an enigmatic people, the Ancestral Puebloans, the Anasazi, who occupied the Four Corners area of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado; then mysteriously disappeared. These remarkable people left remnants of their civilization throughout the region, including pit houses and multi-storied cliff dwellings that were marvels of architectural engineering. Combining interviews with leading archaeologists, historical photographs and live re-enactments of Anasazi life, this insightful documentary re-traces the life of these ancient people attempting to unravel the mystery of their disappearance.
