This Oscar winning documentary, narrated by Walter Huston, and a famous U.S. Army training film in WW II before its theatrical release, was part of Director Frank Capra's Why We Fight series; the answer compares the "free" and "slave" worlds of this time period. Using a combination of archival footage, maps, and other graphics, it looks at events of 1931 - 1939, including the development of dictatorships in Italy, Germany and Japan; Italy's conquest of Ethiopia; Japan's conquest of Manchuria; anti-militarism and isolationism rising in the USA; enemy propaganda; and the first acts of aggression.
