The World at War

World at War, The

This re-mastered classic documents a decade of events that eventually led to the attack on Pearl Harbor and America's participation in World War II. The footage was taken from actual newsreels and enemy films in custody of the U.S. Government; so nothing has been staged. We see Nazi rallies at Madison Square Garden, New York; much of Adolph Hitler, including French and German delegations meeting in the same railroad car used to accept Germany's surrender to France and its allies in World War I; scenes of German troops marching into Paris; also the most descriptive footage of the aftermath of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Produced by the U.S. Office of War Information. 42/08DE JSCA 45 min.
