Academy Award Winner
This newly re-mastered, Oscar winning documentary was directed by John Houston; he and his actor father, Walter, also narrated it. This is a profile of the lonely, but still dangerous, life for soldiers on the remote bomber base of Adak in the Aleutian Islands. Here we see the sacrifices made by the men for their country; also we witness how close Houston and his crew came to being killed on one of the bombing missions over Japanese-occupied Kiska. Directed by John Houston. 43/08DE JSCA 50 min.
