"Highly Recommended! This is one of those fun-to-watch documentaries, filled with spectacular aerial footage, that literally gives viewers the "big picture" of what an incredible place Australia Australia is; it too offers wonderful close-up footage of the many unique animals found here. It may be impossible to tell the continent's whole story in one program, but this program does a great job trying." -National Media Review
Australia is the largest, flattest, driest island in the world, which has been surrounded by the oceans for forty million years; however, away from its fertile coasts, rain clouds seldom penetrate. It is a continent apart, where evolution has worked in isolation, and most of its inhabitants can be found nowhere else on earth. With spectacular photography this documentary takes us through the different regions of Australia to view the breadth of the landscape and the intimate lives of its unique animals, including the many types of Kangaroo or Wallaby, the Bilby or Bandicoot, the Saltwater Crocodile, the Koala, the Echidna or Anteater, the Platypus, the Green Tree Python, Little Red Flying Foxes, and birds such as Rosellas, Lorikeets, Parrots, Cockatoos, Avocets and Pelicans. Produced by ABC International, Inc. 2008 Closed-Captioned JSCA 52 min.
