Karate continues to grow in popularity as a children's sport. Along with kids learning the basics of self-defense, karate is great fun; plus it teaches self-discipline, honor and respect of others. This program features the world famous karate instructor Sensei Akita, who introduces the principles and magic of Shotokan Karate; then the instruction elements of the program are conducted by his former pupil, Sensei Paul Rudwick, a full-time instructor, who specializes in teaching the basics of karate to children ages six and up in a safe and entertaining way. With the help of current pupils Sensei Paul uses his easy-to-follow style to introduce simple attacking and defensive blocks, basic techniques for self-defense, and a series of exercises to help viewers become real-life karate kids.
