Artist Makoto Fujimura was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and educated bi-culturally between the US and Japan; graduating first from Bucknell University; then receiving an M.F.A. from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music; his paintings address the creative process and explore what it means to see. In 1990 he founded "The International Arts Movement," which hosts a major conference in New York City every February, attracting notable speakers in all the various arts. In this program host Esther Mills speaks with the artist who talks about his belief in absolute beauty and redemption.
