The Kennedy Legacy

Kennedy Legacy, The

President John F. Kennedy. Senator Robert F. Kennedy. Senator Edward M. Kennedy. Three sons of Joseph and Rose Kennedy, whose rise to prominence in American politics allowed the media to label the Kennedys as America's Royal Family, a dynasty that has mesmerized and influenced generations, and, though plagued by tragedy and scandal, their contributions, which brought many positive changes to the world, remain as a lasting legacy that continues to enhance the world's affection towards them. This documentary retells their incredible story. From the marriage of Joe and Rose in 1914, which joined two of Boston's most prominent Irish-American political families, and blessed them with nine children: Joe, John, Rose Marie, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert, Jean and Edward, we witness the highs and lows of the family throughout the 20th century; a story of personal battles and political achievements, of having to deal with unprecedented grief in the public eye, and, despite all the hardships, a legacy of determination that continues to live on. Produced by Switch International. 2012 SCA 52 min.
