Heath Ledger: A Tribute

Ledger, Heath: A Tribute

On January 22, 2008, the entertainment world was rocked by news that one of its brightest young stars had unexpectedly died. Heath Ledger had passed away in his hotel room, leaving behind a beautiful daughter, a legion of fans, and an award-winning performance as The Joker in Batman - The Dark Knight. Heath Andrew Ledger was born on April 4, 1979, in Perth, Australia. Thanks to his talent and good looks, Ledger secured roles in popular Australian soap programs, but soon moved to feature films. Determined to steer away from pin-up boy roles, he accepted roles in Monsters Ball and Brokeback Mountain to gain credibility as an actor, yet maintained his and his growing family's privacy by shying away from excessive media exposure. Respected among his peers and loved by fans the world over, the legacy of Heath Ledger will endure through his films, his daughter, and his memory. Produced by switch International. 2013 JSCA 60 min.
