The Japanese midget submarine was the first vessel sunk in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941; it was discovered in 2002 using the Pisces IV and Pisces V, two deep-diving submersibles operated by the Hawaii Undersea Research Laboratory or HURL; these vehicles allow scientists to observe the deep sea through multiple view ports. Tangalooma Island lies 35 miles from Brisbane, Australia; tourists flock to the island to witness a pod of 8 Bottle Nose Dolphins that appear nightly to be fed by the resort patrons; this is a hand-feeding exercise where the dolphins thrive on human companionship.
