Most divers find the residents of the shallows remarkable and equally as exciting as the larger denizens of the deeper water. Mangrove areas are an important environment, because they act as nurseries for juvenile fish where divers can discover some of the smaller creatures. On an excursion to the Fijian Island, Manor, we meet Apesi Bartie, who has a passion for sharks, which he calls pets; the feed-diving excursions operated by Apesi are very popular with the tourists to this island. Environmental issues are topical and we take a look at a major shipping disaster, the Exxon Valdez catastrophe, which was a major oil spill that affected over 1,100 miles of the Alaskan coastline.
