DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH:
ZENI AND THE LEGACY OF
JAPANESE-AMERICAN BASEBALL
Hosted by Noriyuki "Pat" Morita, this poignant documentary pays tribute to Kenichi Zenimura, known as "The Father of Japanese-American Baseball," while sharing how baseball helped many of the 120,000 Japanese-Americans who were relocated to remote internment camps during World War II. Covering over 100 years of history, it includes wonderful anecdotes of Zeni with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, and explains how baseball helped transcend bigotry and hatred to bring pride and respect to Japanese-Americans who loved the game.
